What is a Doodle Dog?

A doodle dog, also refered to as a "designer dog," is a crossbreed between a Poodle and another dog breed. If breed well, the poodle's hypoallergenic qualities shine in the doodles, making them an excellent choice for families with allergies.

Doodle dogs come in various shapes and sizes, and their temperament can vary depending on the other breed in the mix (as well as how they are socialized). Some popular designer types:

  1. Labradoodle: A mix of Labrador Retriever and Poodle. They are known for their friendly and outgoing nature. They're intelligent and highly trainable, making them excellent family pets and service dogs.

  2. Goldendoodle: A mix of Golden Retriever and Poodle. Goldendoodles are known for their gentle and affectionate personalities. They are often prized for their beautiful, wavy coats and make great companions for families of all sizes. Lots of snuggles!

Its easy to know if it will or not, so please read our other post).

  2. Intelligence and Trainability: Doodle dogs are highly intelligent and eager to please, making them easy to train. Whether you're teaching basic commands or complex tricks, they'll catch on quickly.

(This is a matter of genetics, some doodles do not display the non or low shedding gene, we have a post about how to know if a dog will shed or not).

  5. Versatile Companions: Whether you're an active individual looking for a jogging partner or someone who enjoys quiet evenings at home, there's a doodle dog for you. Doodle dogs come in various sizes and energy levels, you can find one that matches your lifestyle.
